Rhodonite

In Tucson we ran across the largest soap-shaped Rhodonite stones (22-33 listed below) that we have ever seen.

Granted they display quite a bit of Manganese, the typical black inclusion in Rhodonite, but in many ways they are amazingly interesting stones.

In particular, under good magnification they show wonderful crystalization. We have been looking at them with one of the newer jeweler’s loupes with a built-in LED light, and one can see all kinds of structure, shimmer, and patterns deep inside of the stones.
